ASCI meet on bio-fuels

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) here has taken up a project to promote the adoption of alternative fuels, especially bio-fuels in the transport sector.

The project aims to develop business models for various stakeholder groups involved. It hopes to integrate the enabling role of the Government with the business interests of the stakeholders, according to Dr G. Narendra Kumar, Advisor for the project.

To crystallise some of these issues, the ASCI is organising here a brainstorming meeting on March 16. It will bring together policy makers, industry experts and researchers. The focus would be on formulating a business model to promote bio-fuels, he said in a press release.

The broad areas of discussion include, advantages of bio-fuels over regular fuels; market drivers, restraints and challenges for their adoption in the transport sector; necessary policy changes required.
