Kerala Govt plans panel for wage revision

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government will soon take steps to constitute a committee to suggest revision of wages of cashew workers, according to the Labour Minister, Mr Babu Divakaran.

Responding to a calling-attention motion on Wednesday, he said the committee would be asked to submit its recommendations within a specific timeframe.

A majority of those who participated in the Industrial Relations Committee meeting for the cashew industry that met on February 14 was in favour of constituting a committee to suggest recommendations for wage revision, the Minister said.
