Call to bring down cyber crime

Our Bureau

MANGALORE: The Chairman and Managing Director of Laser Soft Infosystems Ltd, Mr B. Suresh Kamath, has said that robust software with adequate security measures can help in bringing down the number of cyber crimes.

Delivering a talk on `Information technology and cyber crime,' organised by the Mangalore-Manipal chapter of Public Relations Society of India here, he said that the governments should spend more on information security systems. Personnel in police and forensic departments should be trained in tackling these cases, Mr Kamath said.

Most companies give importance to their business growth rather than security aspects while implementing software packages. They should come out of such a tendency, he added.
