Kerosene demand going up in AP

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , March 3

THE demand for free trade kerosene (FTK) has spiralled, following the rationalisation in the distribution of kerosene through the public distribution system , in the State.

Consequently, supply orders from more than 100 consumers totalling 6.77 lakh litres, equivalent to a month's requirement, have been received by the State Civil Supplies Department.

Major consumers of FTK include printing presses, dyeing and printing units, granite units, automobile workshops, chemical and pharmaceuticals companies.

In order to meet these increasing demands from industrial units, plus the non-industrial consumers, the AP State Civil Supplies Corporation has been requested to take up the supply.

Giving this information, Mr Bhanwar Lal, Comissioner of Civil Supplies, said in a press release that the district manager of the Corporation would register the demands of the bulk consumers, draw from stocks of oil depots and supply.

The Corporation will supply FTK and provide transportation after duly collecting the relevant costs communicated by the oil company plus 25 per cent APGST and other actual charges towards handling and transportation, besides 2.5 per cent administrative charges.
