Descon Soft to expand call centre seats in Kolkata

THE call centre of Descon Soft Ltd, which was inaugurated recently, would be expanded from the existing level of 100 seats to 500 seats by the end April 2006.

Descon Soft is a 50:50 joint venture between DPSC Ltd (formerly Dishergarh Power Supply Co. Ltd) and the US-based Public Soft Corporation, a TeleSynergy group company.

According to Mr S. Radhakrishnan, Managing Director of DPSC, call centre operations of Descon Soft has already started with 25 seats and by the end of next month it would be increased to 100 seats.

"At present, we have the capacity to operate with 100 seats. We are building a new floor on our own premises, and once that is ready, the capacity of the call centre would be increased to 500 seats," he told Business Line.

At present, Descon Soft's call centre would be handling a section of the clients of TeleSynergy. The company is expecting a turnover of Rs 40 crore on a total investment of Rs 25 crore.
