BENGAL Shristi Infrastructure Development Ltd (BSIDL), a 50:50 joint venture between Asansol Durgapur Development Authority (ADDA) and Shristi Infrastructure development Corporation, plans to set up a Rs 350-crore integrated township in Asansol.
The company has already invested Rs 70 crore in developing a 3.7-lakh square feet mall in Durgapur and is planning to set up a truck terminal and a warehousing zone in Ranigunj.
Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the proposed integrated township, Shristinagar, in Asansol on Saturday, Mr Hemant Kanoria, Director of BSIDL, said that SembCorp Infrastructure of Singapore was appointed as engineering and management consultant to the project. SembCorp would also be preparing the master plan for the township.
Mr Kanoria said that Tata Energy Research Centre had also agreed to help BSIDL to make Shristinagar the country's first green township. The first phase of the project would be completed in December-January.
