BL, Rotary Club corporate quiz on March 13

THE Rotary Club of Madras will conduct The Hindu Business Line Corporate Quiz on March 13, at Chennai's Taj Coromandel, to commemorate the centennial year of Rotary International.

On offer are laptops, computer peripherals, getaways to holiday destinations, white goods, leather goods and accessories, international calling cards, Internet starter packs — prizes worth Rs 7 lakh, and that includes two return tickets to Los Angeles for the winning team.

The entry fee for a two-member corporate team is Rs 4,000.

Mr Bharat V. Epur of Quizwalahs will host the show, whose theme is `Business and Industry.' There will also be special rounds on marketing and advertising. There will be attractive prizes for the audience also.

A nominal entry fee will be charged by the Rotary Club. The money raised from the quiz will go towards the club's community service initiatives.

The co-sponsors of the event are AirTel, Air-India, ITC Infotech, Sify, HP and TCS, while the supporting sponsors are Hidesign, Viveks, BrandReporter, Diviniti, Indian Terrain and Taj.

Registration starts at 1 p.m. while the preliminary round starts at 2 p.m. to be followed by the final at 3.30 p.m. The top six teams will go through to the finals. In last year's quiz, 50 teams had participated. This is the second edition of the quiz.

The Rotary Club of Madras, which was started in 1929, is the third-oldest club in India and the oldest in South India. It has 227 members.
