Water levels decline in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Water levels at the three major reservoirs in the State - Idukki, Idamalayar and Kallada - have registered a fall when compared with recordings made a week ago.

According to figures released by the Central Water Commission, the level declined from 2339.70 ft to 2336.74 ft at Idukki, from 476.74 ft to 472.77 ft at Idamalayar and from 349.74 ft to 345.47 ft at Kallada.

However, all three reservoirs registered an increase in the respective levels when compared with those recorded a year ago. The levels are up by 12.72 ft at Idukki, by 9.71 ft at Idamalayar and 3.18 ft at Kallada.
