Accidents Fire at Aurobindo Pharma unit; one killed Our Bureau
Hyderabad , March 9 FOLLOWING a blow out in one of the factories of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (APL) that led to the death of a worker on Tuesday, the police began investigating the incident along with the officials of the Directorate of Factories on Wednesday. The police have registered a case against the management of APL, taking into account the mishap in the company unit located at Gundlamachnoor in Hatnoor mandal of Medak district. According to them, further investigation into the matter would, however, depend on the report expected from the officials of Directorate of Factories who visited the factory on Tuesday night. Though the management has not yet come out with any official announcement on the incident and the subsequent losses, both human and financial, reports reaching here indicated that two more helpers were injured and hospitalised. The asbestos ceiling covering the reactors was damaged, causing injuries to a couple of other workers.
With officials of the Directorate of Factories and Insurance Companies visiting the incident spot for investigation and loss assessment, the APL management has beefed up security around the unit.
