Mumbai , March 9

THE Pfizer Ltd Managing Director, Mr Hocine Sidi Said, has resigned from the company. The resignation is effective from March 25, the company told the BSE.

Mr Sidi Said announced his intention to relinquish his responsibilities from the company to pursue opportunities elsewhere, a company communiqué said. No details were forthcoming from the company on the future plans of the outgoing MD.

The company has not announced a successor to the MD's post. A company official added, however, that a decision would be taken out of Pfizer Inc, the parent company.

Meanwhile, the company's board of directors and relevant regulatory authorities including the SEBI have been informed on Wednesday of Mr Sidi Said's plans going forward, the note said.

The outgoing MD had spent four years in India and over 19 years with the parent company. His career-graph has seen him posted as Country Manager in several countries such as Denmark, Egypt and Indonesia.

In India, Mr Sidi Said's tenure has witnessed the merger with Parke-Davis (India) and Pharmacia.
