Rubber Rubber static amidst scattered trade Our Correspondent
Kottayam , March 10 DOMESTIC spot rubber rates continued to rule static amidst low trading activities. Scattered transactions failed to initiate any price variations but the undercurrent remained firm as growers and traders seemed confident enough to stay away from a neutral market. RSS 4 closed steady at Rs 54.25 at Kottayam but improved to Rs 54.50 from Rs 54 a kg at Kochi. The NMCE rubber futures moved down following a weak TOCOM closing. The March contract was quoted at Rs 53.50 (Rs 53.84), April at Rs 55.90 (Rs 56.47), May at Rs 57.90 (Rs 58.34) and June contract at Rs 59.35 (Rs 59.78) per kg for RSS 4. RSS 3 remained unchanged at Rs 57.23 a kg at Bangkok. At TOCOM, the April futures for RSS 3 declined to 135.7 yen from 137.4 yen a kg on Wednesday Spot rubber prices a kg were: RSS-4: Rs 54.25 (Rs 54.25); RSS-5: Rs 53 (Rs 53); ungraded: Rs 52.50 (Rs 52.50); ISNR 20: Rs 53.25 (Rs 53.25); and latex 60%: Rs 39.50 (Rs 39.50).
