Kerala Govt aid to farmers' kin

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has sanctioned financial assistance to the families of 179 farmers who had committed suicide because of their inability to repay agricultural debts.

An amount of Rs 50,000 will be paid to each family from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, says an official release. District Collectors have been asked to distribute the funds at the earliest, the release adds.
