Wipro to take action against employee

Our Bureau

Bangalore, March 10

WIPRO said on Thursday that it would take appropriate action against its employee who had created a bomb scare by making a hoax call to the company on Wednesday.

"Appropriate action will be taken against the employee according to the internal rules," Wipro sources said.

The Bangalore police had arrested Wipro employee Mr Prashant Kumar for making a call to the company's office on MG Road, that a bomb had been planted in the building, which later turned out to be hoax. The call had triggered panic and the police had to evacuate about 200 employees from the Wipro office. Police said Mr Prashant Kumar had told them that he made the call to highlight the poor security system in software companies.
