MANGALORE: The Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister, Mr Jabbar Khan Honnali, has urged the Government to allocate Rs 20 crore for the construction of a vented dam across Nethravathi River at Tumbe in the district.

Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, he said that the new dam will help in supplying drinking water to Mangalore. He has also urged the Government to allocate Rs 10 crore for the development of airport in Mangalore. The Minister said that he is giving priority for the early completion of Mangalore-Hassan Railway line.
