Rlys freight loading exceeding target

New Delhi , March 11

THE Indian Railways loaded 541.97 million tonnes (mt) of revenue earning freight during the 11 months ended February of the current fiscal year, exceeding the target of 525.95 mt by 16.02 mt.

It also registered an incremental loading of 38.27 mt over the corresponding period of the previous year, when 503.70 mt freight traffic was carried, stated an official release.

During February, a total of 50.21 mt of revenue freight was carried compared to 47.68 MTs during the corresponding month of the last year, an increase of 2.53 mt. The target of 46.57 mt for the month was exceeded by 3.64 mt. The loading target fixed at 580 mt for the year has been revised to 600 mt.
