Bank credit up Rs 16,818 cr in February

GROSS bank credit has increased by Rs 16,818 crore in February, to touch Rs 10,63,599 crore, as per RBI's Weekly Statistical Supplement.

This is inclusive of food credit, which decreased by Rs 804 core to Rs 41,135 crore and non-food credit, which increased by Rs 17,621 crore to touch Rs 10,22,464 crore.

Loans and advances to the Central and State governments declined by Rs 1,564 crore for the week ended March 4, while year-on-year money supply stood at 13 per cent for the fortnight ended February 18.
