Cruise tourism package by TPT

MADURAI: The Tuticorin Port Trust (TPT) has come out with a Tuticorin-based cruise tourism package.

In association with the State Tourism Department, it has released a 20-minute video compact disc (VCD) highlighting the tourist spots accessible from the port.

The description included the ancient Padmanabhapuram Palace, the Krishnapuram Temple near Tirunelveli, Courtallam Falls, Kodaikanal and temples in Rameswaram, Madurai and Thanjavur.

According to TPT Chairman, Mr N.K. Raghupathy, the exercise is to promote cruise tourism through the port, connecting the port and tourist destinations.

The VCDs are being circulated through tour operators across the world to attract more luxury cruise liners to the port.
