Energy pros form body

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A group of Certified Energy Auditors (CEAs) and Certified Energy Managers (CEMs) have joined together to create a professional society called "Society of Energy Engineers and Managers" (SEEM).

This is in compliance with the directives from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and seeks to promote a common platform to complement and accelerate the efforts of Governmental/non-governmental agencies to promote energy efficiency, says Mr R. Harikumar, General Secretary. The BEE has announced the second National Certification Examination for energy managers and auditors on May 28 and 29.

SEEM intends to periodically organise skill upgradation programmes for energy professionals to keep them updated on the energy efficiency programmes, projects and initiatives. It has started its first outreach programme with a lecture series on "Energy Conservation Act 2001."

Interested units are requested to contact the Secretary at seemk@vsnl.net or 94471 60027.
