Mixed trend in rubber market

A MIXED trend was observed in the domestic spot rubber market on Monday.

Covering groups and purchase agents turned active bringing up sheet and ungraded rubber prices while the other grades closed steady. Offers from dealers and traders were absorbed by covering purchases.

The rubber futures showed a better trend quoting the March contract at Rs 54.00 (Rs 53.20) a kg with moderate volumes. The April contract was quoted Rs 56.30 (Rs 56.00), May at Rs 58.59 (Rs 58.00) and June at Rs 59.50 (Rs 59.21) per kg for RSS 4.

The spot rubber prices per kg were: RSS-4: 53.50 (53.25); RSS-5: 52.25 (52.25); ungraded: 52.00 (51.75); ISNR 20: 52.50 (52.50) and latex 60 per cent: 39.00 (39.00).
