Cochin Shipyard bags Rs 300-cr export order

Our Bureau

Kochi , March 14

COCHIN Shipyard Ltd (CSL) has bagged export orders worth Rs 300 crore for constructing four platform supply vessels for global major Seatankers Management Company Ltd.

Seatankers is part of the world-renowned John Fredriksen Group and the vessels are scheduled for delivery by mid-2007.

A press release issued here said that the CSL had secured the contract against sharp international competition. Earlier, the yard had obtained orders for a cargo/launch vessel for NPCC, Abu Dhabi, 9 fire fighting tugs for Port of Jeddah and six 30,000 DWT bulk carriers for Clipper Denmark.

The first export order for NPCC was delivered on schedule. Two tugs of Jeddah Port were also delivered on schedule in November last year.

The other tugs and the third export order for Clipper Denmark are on schedule.
