New Delhi , March 15

XENITIS Group on Tuesday launched its `Aapna PC' range of computers in Delhi and said it is setting up a PC components unit in West Bengal at a cost of Rs 250 crore.

"We expect that the launch of Aapna PC in Delhi shall considerably enhance the already increasing PC penetration. We are the leading player in Eastern India and this move will further give us an edge," Mr Santanu Ghosh, Director of Xenitis, said.

The `Aapna PC' range consists of desktops and laptops, with starting price of sub Rs 10,000 and sub Rs 40,000 respectively.

The lowest end desktop model is priced at Rs 9,990 and has a Cyrix-based chip platform.

The entire range is currently available in Eastern India under the brand name `Amar PC,' and in the West as `Amchee PC.'

The company recently entered into a joint venture with China-based Unitek Computers Company Ltd., to manufacture computer cases & SMPS, media chips and peripherals like keyboard, mouse, CD ROM drives, CD-DVD drives, speakers and home theatres.

The new factory spread over 2,00,000 square feet area would come up at Chinsurah, West Bengal.

It would have a capacity of 1.25 lakh units per month, Mr Ghosh said adding that the company was eyeing revenues of Rs 160 crore for the year ended March 2005.

"Next financial year, we aim to clock close to Rs 500 crore on the back of the component sales which would start from April 2005. In addition, the PC range which has now been launched at the pan-India level would contribute significantly to the revenues," he added.
