Software Ivy Comptech expands into product development V. Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad , March 16 IVY Comptech, an online gaming support services provider, has embarked on setting up a hybrid development centre with an investment of up to $3.5 million. It would handle both online support-cum-product development work. The Chief Executive of the company, Mr Prasad Konduru, said: "The new facility spread across 100,000 sq. ft would have the capacity to host about 2,000 people across three shifts." He told Business Line that the company has grown from 40 people to over 900. It expects to add about 500 people in process-related work and double its headcount in product development. "We are also in the process of creating a disaster recovery site, details of which are being finalised. From a pure online support services provider, we have moved on to product development work," he said. Employee numbers are expected to go up significantly this year as the company is in the process of creating gaming options for the mobile phone work. Currently, games such as Poker, Casino and Bingo are offered on desktops and laptops. Given the potential for expanding the user base of such gaming enthusiasts, the company has formed developers' team to custom-design them to suit mobile handsets. Ivy Comptech, which is part of the Gibraltar-based iGlobal Media group, owns a number of online poker and casino portals. The worldwide operations of iGlobal with centres in the UK, Canada and Gibraltar are supported through the India-based centre located in Hyderabad. Ivy Comptech has inducted Mr Anil Virmani, as Director, Finance, while bolstering the India management team.
