Perot Systems moves to own campus in Chennai

Chennai , March 16

PEROT Systems, the US-based information technology, business process outsourcing and consulting firm, opened its new development centre in Chennai. The company moved its associates to the new campus from two temporary facilities in the city, according to a company press release.

Mr Anurag Jain, Vice-President, Business Process Solutions, Perot Systems, told newspersons that the 67,000 sq ft of built-up-space (840-seat capacity) can accommodate 1,850 employees in shifts - currently the company has 1,400 employees in Chennai. The Chennai centre would handle healthcare claims processing, hospital billing, account receivable management and life insurance claims, he said.

Perot Systems, which also has centres in Bangalore and Delhi, employs about 4,500 employees in India, and about 16,000 globally, he said.

Company officials declined to give investment figure in the new centre, and the number of employees to be employed in India.

Mr Ross Perot Jr, Chairman, Perot Systems, said that the company was exploring possibilities of opening up development centres in Russia, China and the Philippines. "We would follow our clients wherever they go," he said.

According to Mr Peter Altabef, President and CEO, Perot Systems, the company was open to mergers and acquisitions in domains such as healthcare, manufacturing and BPO.
