BANGALORE: Wipro Infotech has said that it would offer ready-to-run bioinformatics applications powered by Sun workstations and servers. The package will include the BioWorkstation and Bio Cluster, which enable life science organisations to use inter-connected processors.

BioCluster is available with a browser-based access through the Sun Java portal server. It has been tested at the Asia Pacific Science and Technology Center , said a Wipro press release.

Mr Ashok Tripathy, General Manager, Enterprise Platforms of Wipro Infotech, said, "The benefits of using this package are manifold. There will arise lots of opportunities for collaboration as a result of an expanded user base for bio-computing applications."
