VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam municipal corporation is planning to add one more attraction to the picturesque Sivaji Park here - a snowdome estimated to cost Rs 8-10 crore.

According to Mr N. Srikant, the Municipal Commissioner, it is proposed on an area of 2-3 acres in the 17-acre park, once a dumping ground and an eyesore. The VMC shifted the garbage dumping to Kapulauppada on the outskirts and converted the ground into a beautiful park at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore in 1998.

The municipal commissioner has said that the process of finalising a consultant had begun. "We want this prestigious project under private-public partnership. To make the project viable, the private entrepreneur will also be allowed to set up food courts and amusement facilities usually found in all theme parks," he has said.

A snow mobile track, thrilling races and different kinds of games to attract children and the youth are being planned, according to Mr Srikant.
