J&J to state its position soon

Our Bureau

Mumbai , March 17

"OUR first responsibility is to doctors, mothers, fathers and all others who use our products and we are separately taking a series of steps to reassure them about the quality and safety of our products," Mr N.K. Ambwani, Managing Director-Consumer Products, J&J, said in an internal communication.

Referring to employees as Johnsonians, he said that the company would also be taking a series of steps to place its position before trade customers and suppliers. Further, he pointed out that the ingredients used in the baby products are non-carcinogenic.

"The allegations that some of the ingredients are carcinogenic is baseless. We have asked the FDA to clarify the basis on which these allegations are being made," the letter said.
