New Delhi , March 18

AIR Sahara today announced that it would begin operating a daily return flight on the Chennai-Kuala Lumpur-Chennai sector from May 14.

Addressing a press conference the airline President, Mr Ronojoy Dutta, said Air Sahara would also start a daily service on the Delhi-Singapore-Delhi sector from May 11 this year.

"We are offering an introductory return fare of Rs 10,000 to both the destinations.

"We will be the only airline to offer a day flight from both Singapore to Delhi and Kuala Lumpur to Chennai. Booking for both the flights will open on March 30," Mr Dutta said.

Both the flights are to be operated with a Boeing 737 aircraft and will offer seats in economy and business class.

The airline is also looking at starting flights to other international destinations including Hong Kong, Bangkok and London.

"We hope to operate to all the three new international destinations later this year. We hope to start flying to London by July this year.

"The airline is looking at operating either a Boeing 777 or an Airbus A-330 aircraft to London.

"Besides, we also have applied to the Government for permission to operate to Bangkok and Hong Kong," the Air Sahara President said.

In the domestic market the airline is to offer a third daily flight on the Kolkata-Delhi sector from April 16 apart from providing new connections between Hyderabad and Bhubaneshwar and Hyderabad-Goa.

While the Kolkata-Delhi flight will be operated with a Boeing aircraft the airline is to operate the smaller CRJ aircraft on the proposed two new flights from Hyderabad.

The airline also plans to induct six more aircraft including three-Boeing 737-700 and one Boeing 737-800 aircraft into its fleet by June this year.

The airline President said that all six aircraft would be leased.
