Hyundai India Managing Director shifted to INI Steel

Our Bureau

New Delhi , March 18

THE Hyundai Motor India Managing Director, Mr Byung Ho Sung, has been promoted as President of the INI Steel Company, one of Hyundai-Kia Motor Group companies in South Korea.

Mr Sung moves to Korea to take charge of the Incheon-based company, which is South Korea's second-largest steel manufacturer. Mr Sung's appointment comes in the wake of Hyundai Motor Group's efforts to focus on and consolidate its steel division, the company said.

Last year, INI Steel and its affiliate Hyundai Hysco Co. acquired the bankrupt Hanbo Iron & Steel Company.

According to a company statement, the appointment of Mr Sung, who has an engineering background and international exposure, is expected to give a clear direction to the company.

Before taking over India operations, Mr Sung was Senior Executive Vice President at Hyundai Motor Company and in charge of the overseas sales division.

The India operations will be headed by Mr S.S. Yang, who is currently the head of Hyundai Motor's sales division in China. Before China, Mr Yang held senior positions at Hyundai operations in Turkey and Poland.
