OSCAR-WINNING film producer Lord David Puttnam has launched the Country Office India for one of the UK's modern universities, University of Sunderland.

"The University's Country Office in India will act as a one-stop-shop offering a full range of guidance to students who wish to study with us. We aim to form partnerships with quality institutions to deliver our programmes in India and also to participate in progression arrangements that will enable their students to take up bachelors and masters study opportunities in Sunderland," said Lord Puttnam.

"The institute has partnered with APTECH Ltd in the country to deliver the top up year to its students of B.Sc. (Honours) Computer Studies at the Chennai centre of APTECH. It is in final stages of talks for partnerships with some other educational institutes as well," the Country Manager of University of Sunderland, Ms Nidhi Kapur told Business Line.
