Cash transaction tax

The Finance Minister should not entirely exempt savings accounts from tax. Perhaps, the threshold limit could be raised to Rs 25,000. The Finance Minister is right when he says that huge sums of money are withdrawn from bank accounts.

To further bring people within the tax net, the Finance Minister should ensure that income tax and excise staff are more honest and make it compulsory to route all transactions through bank accounts.

Auditors must be asked to specifically qualify the accounts where the turnover is not routed through bank accounts.
