Chennai , March 21

COGNIZANT Technology Solutions, the US-based provider of information technology services, has announced a new business and IT consulting offering, ITEM (IT Effectiveness Measurement and Analysis Methodology), which helps organisations assess value of their IT portfolio as a critical first step in aligning their technology investments and platforms with enterprise business objectives.

ITEM provides clients with a balanced scorecard of IT value by measuring IT effectiveness from seven different perspectives — strategic decision makers, business owners, end users, component owners, technology, process and financials.

More than 100 quantitative data points are collected and then analysed through sophisticated statistical analyses to yield a composite, global IT Portfolio Effectiveness Index and multidimensional analysis.
