Changi airport `evaluating' India opportunities

Our Bureau

New Delhi , March 23

THE Changi Airport Management and Partners is evaluating opportunities for airport development in India, but its board member, Mr Daniel E.E, was tight-lipped about details.

"We are seriously evaluating the opportunities here. However, it will not be appropriate to reveal just yet which airports we are interested in," he said.

Changi airport has tied up with the Bharati group to bid for the restructuring and modernising of the two airports that the Government has offered for development. However, Mr Daniel did not disclose whether his company was interested in the Delhi or the Mumbai airport, both of which have received in-principle clearance from the empowered Group of Ministers formed to look into the issue.

Mr Daniel was also not overly concerned about delay in the restructuring process moving forward.
