Campaign to wish cricket team

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: The Bangalore Mayor, Mr Narayanaswamy, joined the euphoric well wishers of the Indian cricket team to wish them good luck on their third and final Test match against Pakistan.

India, having won the second Test in Kolkata to lead 1-0 against the visitors, have to win the match starting here on Thursday to clinch the series. This has added to the enthusiasm of cricket lovers who were exulting at their local boys, Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble shaping Indian victory in Kolkata to join a signature campaign to wish them luck. The campaign launched by a local company, Balan Natural Food (P) Ltd on March 14 has resulted in a jumbo banner, which will be presented by the Mayor to Sourav Ganguly, Captain of the Indian team, at a function during the Test match. The banner carrying the slogan "wrap up the series in winning style in Namma Bangaluru,' was also signed by the Deputy Mayor, Ms N. Shantakumari.
