Truck terminals coming up in Vizag

VISAKHAPATNAM: Two truck terminals are proposed to be set up here and one of them would be completed in a month's time, said Mr V.S.K Kaumudi, Police Commissioner.

At the recent meeting of the traffic advisory council here, he said the concrete flooring and lighting for the terminal coming up at Jnanapuram, on a 2.7-acre site, would be completed in a month's time. The other terminal would come up at Gajuwaka and it would require 16 acres, of which seven acres have already been allocated. Work on the terminal would begin after the allocation of the remaining land.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) would start work on the terminal soon. The proposed terminal would have a hotel, a telephone booth and facilities for drivers to relax. He said Visakhapatnam Port Trust has been requested to allot an alternate parking site till the completion of Jnanapuram truck terminal.
