Garden Hygienic bullish on Bangalore market

Our Bureau

Bangalore , March 24

A MUMBAI-based snack food company, Garden Hygienic Snacks Pvt Ltd, with its assortment of snacks marketed in the two western Indian States - Maharashtra and Gujarat — and northern region, hopes to garner a sizeable market share in Karnataka with 25 of its 180 products initially.

Karnataka, particularly Bangalore, has emerged as a major attraction for any enterprise as the IT savvy population has carved a new trend for its consumption expenditure. "This encouraged us to test market our products in the State via Bangalore," said Mr Jatin Bheda, Director of the company.

The company expects a Rs 10 crore turnover in the State in the next one year, said Mr Bheda adding that Garden snacks would be sold through supermarkets and retail stores.

He was also confident that some IT companies who have their mini-sales outlets of leading branded goods, could become a big market.
