`GIC staff strike total'

KOCHI: The two-day all-India strike on March 23-24 of the General Insurance employees and officers was total in Kerala, according to Mr P.P. Mohanan, State Convenor of the Joint Action Committee of General Insurance Employees and Officers.

He said if the General Insurance Public Sector Association continued its negative attitude towards the demands the employees would be compelled to intensify their agitation.

The four general insurance companies - United India Insurance, New India Assurance, National Insurance and Oriental Insurance would start functioning from Monday after the holidays.
