Tea Mixed trend at Kochi tea sale Our Bureau
Kochi , March 27 A MIXED trend persisted for almost all varieties of tea at the Kochi tea auction. Though the dust sale witnessed a good general demand, it was comparatively low for leaf varieties. Of the quantity of 9,36,000 kg on offer in the dust category, best CTCs were steady. Good mediums and lower CTCs barely steady to irregularly easier by around a rupee. Orthodox highgrowns was higher, while medium orthodox dearer. The best CTC varieties commanded prices between Rs 58-65, medium CTC realised Rs 52-55 and below medium CTC realised Rs 37-43. Highgrown BOPD fetched Rs 149, while medium BOPD were quoted Rs 39-43. Secondaries realised Rs 34. Exporters were selective on orthodox grades. The best Nilgiri varieties commanded prices at Rs 62-85, medium Orthodox realised Rs 43-65. The best CTC leaf fetched Rs 49-51, while medium CTC leaf realised Rs 43-47. In the leaf category, Chamraj OP realised the best prices of Rs 98 followed by Chamraj FOPS by Rs 96. In the dust varieties, Kodanaad Cl.BOPD fetched the best prices of Rs 149 followed by both Pasuprai SFD and FD by Rs 106 each.
