Wolfowitz and World Bank

This is with reference to the article "Mr Wolfowitz for World Bank: Scepticism overdone?" (Business Line, March 28). I would like to point out few matters in this regard.

It is mentioned that the US debacle in Vietnam was due to the policy failures emanating from the decisions taken by Mr Kennedy.

However, I would like to raise the question of how Mr McNamara could be absolved from the responsibility of the debacle. He was also responsible for the policy formulations in Vietnam.

Moreover, Mr Wolfowitz was also in the neo-conservative group which along with George Bush Senior, Mr Donal Rumsfield etc.

This group was generally referred to as the "B-Team". In this light, I felt it was unfair to blame Mr Kennedy alone.
