Our Correspondent

Kottayam , March 28

TO attract both foreigners and domestic tourists to different beauty spots of Kottayam district, the Tourism Department is taking various steps.

A mini bus service linking all such important tourists places will start operating shortly under the direct supervision of the District Tourism Promotion council.

Connecting tourist spots such as Elaveezhapoonchira, Illickalkallu, Kurisumala, Nadukani, Erumely, Aruvikuzhy, Vaikom, Wagamon etc the bus service would commence early in April.

At Elaveezhapoonchira work has already progressed to provide basic amenities to visitors. Facilities to see the water falls at Aruvikuzhy are also being provided.

Besides Elaveezhapoonchira, the development works at Mannanam, Kodimatha and Changanacherry would also be completed as scheduled. An information centre and a counter for exhibition and sale of handicrafts will be commenced in the resort recently completed at Kumarakom.
