Human Resources Secretaries' panel to study GO 610 Our Bureau
Hyderabad , March 28 A FOUR-member committee of senior secretaries will go into the aspect of implementing the Presidential Order and the Government Order (GO) number 610 pertaining to regulation of local cadres in the Government sector in the Telangana region. The Finance Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, assured the Legislative Assembly that the issue of entrusting the post of Deputy Chief Minister to a person belonging to a region other than the one from where the Chief Minister hails , would be considered. Replying to a debate on the implementation of GO 610 in the House, the Minister said that the committee of secretaries would have detailed discussions in each department on the Giriglani Commission findings to ascertain the departmental views before making its recommendations. The process was expected to be completed as early as possible. The one-man commission headed by Mr J.M. Giriglani, appointed by the State Government, had examined whether there were irregularities and deviations with regard to the implementation of the GO issued on October 10, 1975. The OMC report pointed out 126 violations and 18 deviations in this regard. Earlier, members, cutting across party lines, demanded time-bound implementation of the GO.
