THE Government today cleared a number of high level appointments, including the appointment of the new Home Secretary.

Mr V.K. Duggal, an IAS officer of the 1968 batch, has been appointed as the new Home Secretary.

Dr J. Sridhara Sarma has been named as the new Telecom Secretary. Mr Sashi Kumar, who was the Director (Marketing) in Coal India Ltd, has been appointed as the regular Chairman of the company.
