Plantation workers to get free ration

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In view of the problems in the State's plantation sector, workers of plantations that are closed will receive free rations for one more month from April 1, says an official press release.

Each family will receive five kilos of rice a week as part of this scheme.

The scheme's beneficiaries will be identified by the Collector of each district, in association with the labour department, the release adds.
