Land for IFFCO

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The State Government has handed over 2,776 acres of land at Ragadichilika village in Nellore district to IFFCO for the establishment of ammonia and urea manufacturing plant.

Disclosing this in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, the Minister for Major Industries, Mr B. Satyanarayana, however, said the project proposal was still pending with the Union Government for final approval. The Centre had, in principle, accorded clearance for the project in April 1999 subject to appraisal by the Project Appraisal Board.

Replying to a question by Mr P. Srinivasulu Reddy during question hour in the House, the Minister said that besides establishing an urea plant, IFFCO proposed to utilise the land for setting up a farmers training centre and demonstration plots.
