Mohali Test scores TV rating of 3.89

Chennai , March 30

THE India-Pakistan Test match at Mohali, the first of the series, garnered a TV rating (TVR) of 3.89, says a TAM report. This translates to an average viewership of 3.3 million people in cable and satellite homes (over four years of age).

This represents a dip in viewership numbers compared to the first Test between the two countries last year at Multan in Pakistan. The TVR then was 5.41, indicating a viewership base of 4.62 million on an average.

Sources in the industry say spot rates for the one-day internationals, which will be played in April, are between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh per 10 seconds, lower by a third than the rates during India's trip to Pakistan last year.

The rates for the Test matches were between Rs 60,000 and Rs 70,000 for similar slots.

Doordarshan holds the telecast rights for the series.
