IOB disbursements in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Priority credit disbursement by banks in Thiruvananthapuram district during the first nine months of fiscal 2004-05 has crossed Rs 1,134 crore (target Rs 1,393.95 crore).

This was announced at the district-level review committee of banks hosted here by Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), lead bank for the district. The services sector saw disbursements of Rs 679.79 crore, agriculture Rs 377.18 crore and industries Rs 77.67 crore. Total deposits amounted to Rs 9,773 crore and advances Rs 7,431 crore. The credit-deposit ratio stood at 76 per cent. The credit plan for fiscal 2005-06 projected disbursements of Rs 1775.17 crore.

This included Rs 698.96 crore for agriculture, Rs 152.42 crore for small-scale units and Rs 923.79 crore for services. This represents an increase of Rs 381.19 crore over that of the previous year's target.
