New chief for Delhi art commission

NEW DELHI: Mr Charles Correa has been appointed as the Chairman of the Delhi Urban Art Commission (DUAC).

The other three members of the newly constituted DUAC are Mr Jasbir Sawhney, Mr Mohammad Shaheer and Ms Narayani Gupta. Mr P.K. Pradhan, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Urban Development, will be the official member of this body.

They will have a tenure of three years, with provision for reappointment for a second term, according to an official release. The DUAC was committed in 1974 to observe, develop and maintain the aesthetic quality of urban and environmental design within Delhi.
