Bharat Electronics PBT up 39.8 pc

BHARAT Electronics Ltd has posted its highest ever turnover of Rs 3,223.6 crore (provisional) for the year 2004-05, showing a growth of 15 per cent over the turnover the previous fiscal.

The estimated profit before tax was up 39.8 per cent at Rs 656 crore compared to the 2003-04 figure of Rs 469 crore. Exports touched $12.72 million, a 40-per cent jump over last year's figure of $ 9.08 million.

During 2003-04, BEL made a sales turnover of Rs 2,798.6 crore.

For the year ended March 31, 2005, BEL's value of production was Rs 3,248.2 crore against Rs 2,807.8 crore last fiscal, or an increase of 16 per cent.

The turnover per employee was Rs 26 lakh, a 21-per cent increase over last year's figure of Rs 21.5 lakh.
