Performance Bajaj sales rise 17.8% in March Our Bureau
Mumbai , April 1 BAJAJ Auto Ltd (BAL) today reported a 17.8-per cent growth in total sales of two- and three-wheelers for March to 163,530 units, against the previous corresponding 138,819 units. Sale of 2-wheelers gained 22 per cent to 144,776 units (118,680 units), including a 42.9 per cent increase in motorcycle volumes to 134,670 units (94,223 units). BAL's market share in motorcycles was 28.8 per cent (24.5 per cent). However, sale of 3-wheelers for the month dipped by 6.9 per cent to 18,754 units (20,139 units). The company's total exports moved up by 79.1 per cent to 24,404 units (13,625 units). For the full year, BAL's total two- and three-wheeler sales increased 20.4 per cent to 18,26,645 units (15,17,480 units). Its 2-wheeler sales was up 24.6 per cent to 16,04,660 units (12,88,298 units), including a 41.6 per cent gain in motorcycle sales to 14,49,673 units (10,23,551 units). Three-wheeler volumes fell 3.1 per cent to 221,985 units (229,182 units). Full year exports were up 26.1 per cent to 196,692 units (156,007 units).
