Mumbai , April 1

INDOCO Remedies Ltd has tied up with consultant company Strategic Resources USA to support its foray into the US.

Strategic Resources will be the "eyes and ears" for Indoco in the US, said Ms Aditi Kare Panandikar, Director-Business Development and Human Resources Development with Indoco.

Strategic Resources will help bring in customers looking to collaborate with Indoco in research and manufacturing, she said.

It will also help with selection of products that Indoco could work upon and file abbreviated new drug applications, she added. A limited liability company, Strategic Resources will also act as an agent for Indoco and its products in the US market, the company told the BSE.

Indoco, a closely held company, also announced that it has begun commercial production at its new tablet manufacturing facility at Verna, Goa.

The facility has a manufacturing capacity of 65 million tablets a month on a single shift basis. This plant has been set up on USFDA guidelines, the company said.

Meanwhile, Indoco's exisiting Goa plant I facility has approval from the UK-MHRA for its tablet manufacturing facility. Production from the new facility for export to the UK will begin in May 2005, the company said.
