O&M Bangalore bags WorldSpace account

Chennai , April 1

SATELLITE radio operator WorldSpace has chosen O&M Bangalore to handle its creative duties.

O&M, with a one-year contract, will replace Bangalore-based Fish Eye, which had been involved with campaigns to promote the various initiatives of WorldSpace in Bangalore and Chennai.

"It was not a typical pitch. We spoke to a few agencies, and O&M's idea appealed to us. It also has a good network across the country," Mr Sanjay Ramakrishnan, head of WorldSpace's consumer audio business, told Business Line.

"The agency will help us with the launches in all the markets, more importantly Delhi and Mumbai (the others being Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune and Chandigarh), as well as build the brand through 360-degree campaigns."

WorldSpace already has a retailer network as well as lounges in Bangalore and Chennai.

The transition from Fish Eye to O&M in these two cities will take 15-30 days; otherwise, the latter has taken over, he said.

The radio company's first television commercial is expected around August this year.
